Idaho Man's Story Comes to the Big Screen Jan 18
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- Excel Entertainment Group has announced that
"The Other Side of Heaven" will open in Idaho theaters on Friday,
January 18. Based on the true-life experiences of Idaho native John
Groberg, "The Other Side of Heaven" stars Christopher Gorham and Anne
Hathaway ("The Princess Diaries"). The team of Hollywood filmmakers
to work on the project included Academy Award-winning producer Gerald
R. Molen, whose film credits include "Schindler's List" and "Jurassic
Park".
Set on a small island in the Kingdom of Tonga in the 1950's, the
story follows Groberg as he is sent as a young missionary to Tonga.
The movie combines drama, adventure and romance in an epic tale of
love, culture and faith.
The movie was the #1 unrestricted film per screen in the nation after
its opening weekend on December 14, with a staggering box office per
screen average of $29,176. Tom Cruise's film "Vanilla Sky," which
opened the same weekend, had a per screen average of $9,117.
The only film to outperform "The Other Side of Heaven" on its opening
weekend was the R-rated comedy The Royal Tenenbaums, starring an
Oscar-winning ensemble cast that includes Gene Hackman, Anjelica
Huston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Danny Glover.
The film will open in Edwards theaters in Boise, Nampa and Idaho
Falls, and Carmike theaters in Pocatello and Twin Falls. The film's
official web site,

up-to-date theater information. Excel Entertainment Group is
distributing "The Other Side of Heaven."
