Jenny Oaks Baker recently received her master's degree from The Juilliard
School in New York City. She also holds a bachelor's degree in violin
performance from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She has
given recitals in Israel, Europe, and has soloed with orchestras
throughout
the United States, including the Utah Symphony, the Curtis Chamber
Orchestra and the Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
She has also appeared as guest soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir
in their national television and radio broadcast.
Jenny was just awarded two Pearl Awards by the Faith Centered Music
Association for her solo debut album On Wings of Song. Her most recent
recording, Songs My Mother Taught Me, also features hymns and sacred
classical works. She teaches violin to private students.
Sister Baker, who is the daughter of Elder Dallin H. and the late June
Oaks of Salt Lake City, now resides in Northern Virginia with husband
Matthew.
Jenny Naylor, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, is in her fourth year of
undergraduate studies at The Juilliard School as a scholarship
student of Seymour Lipkin.
Sister Naylor has appeared as a soloist with the Utah Symphony on several
occasions, as well as with orchestras throughout the Western
States. She has also received first-place honors and awards at many
competitions,including the Junior Gina Bachaeur International Piano
Competition, and the Kingsville International Piano Competition.
The 21-year old pianist has received national awards for her original
compositions and will marry Nathan Richards this June.
As a duo, the "Jennys" perform together frequently. They have
concertized throughout New York City, Sal Lake City, and in
Washington D.C.. They were featured performers in this year's
Park City International Music Festival, and have represented
The Juilliard School in various concerts abroad. A favorite with
audiences, the "Jennys" have appeared at Lincoln Center's
Alice Tully Hall as well as Carnegie Hall.
