quarterback and LDS Church member Darrell Bevell has been named
offensive assistant/quality control for the NFL's Green Bay Packers,
head coach Mike Sherman announced yesterday. Bevell, a returned
missionary, is best known for leading the Wisconsin Badgers to
victory in the 1994 Rose Bowl. |
Miller, Young Sign on to Help Recruit,Lead Volunteer Corps for 2002 Games |
The Salt Lake Organizing Committee has picked
a winning volunteer team that includes Jazz owner, Larry Miller and
National Football League quarterback, Steve Young to kick off its
volunteer recruitment drive. They are among 16 prominent Utahs named
by the SLOC to recruit and lead a corps of volunteers for the 2002
Olympic Winter Games. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, Miller and Young will be assigned to specific
venues and will work with others to foster relationships in the
communities where other volunteers live and work. |
LDS Basketball Star Joins Golf Products Company |
Former NBA All-Star and LDS Church member
Thurl Bailey has agreed to work for a FILA licensee, Renaissance Golf
Products, to promote its products in its FILA Golf Business to
Business Program. Bailey, who played for the Utah Jazz, joined the
LDS Church while playing basketball in Italy. |
