Local Church Leader Missed By Many
Local Church Leader Missed By Many
CARDSTON, AB, CANADA -- Someone can certainly do a lot in 82 years.
They can touch a lot of people's lives. Even more so through service
in the Church. Grant Matkin, of Cardston, passed away over a week ago in the
Cardston Auxiliary Hospital. Matkin, who married his wife Clara
nearly sixty years ago, touched more lives than just those of his six
children, 26 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Matkin taught and administered in the Cardston school system. More
than 25 of those years were spent as the Superintendent of School.
In addition, he had served as a full-time missionary, a bishop, a
counsellor in two stake presidencies, a stake patriarch, a counsellor
in the Cardston Alberta Temple presidency, and as a temple worker.
His constant service was a monument to his willingness, wisdom, and
love which he portrayed in his many fmaily, community and church
positions.
