Wyoming Star Fights BYU, but also Eliminates Religious Slurs |
Marcus Bailey has become a star basketball player at the
University of Wyoming, and fights hard against BYU every time they play,
gaining the admiration of BYU coach Steve Cleveland. But Bailey has also
managed to eliminate the religious slurs the Cowboy's fans used to yell at
BYU's players. The fans, it seems, don't want to offend their star player.

December Drunk Driving Incident Proves Costly to BYU, Player |
Both BYU's football team and a team member, potential recruit
and former player are paying the price of a drunk driving incident December
9th associated with a recruiting trip. BYU has now placed the player, star
running back Brian McDonald, on probation, and dropped the recruit from its
list of potential candidates. |
Bradly Most Active Mormon NBA Player, Most PGA Players Take Week off |
The Dallas Mavericks' Shawn Bradley remains the
most active Mormon player in the NBA, playing 25 to 30 minutes of
every game, while Travis Knight and rookie Mark Madsen manage only
about 5 minutes a game. Scott Pollard plays somewhat more, nearly 20
minutes a game. And the playing time makes a difference, with both
Bradley and Pollard scoring about 17 points per hour on the court,
while Madsen manages 14 points per hour on the court and Knight just
6.4 points per hour on the court. |
Utah State to Honor LaVell Edwards on Saturday |
Utah State University will recognize the
accomplishments of one of its most famous alumni when the Aggies
honor LaVell Edwards at halftime of the Utah State vs. Idaho
basketball game at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan on Saturday,
Jan. 27. |
Season Opener at Arizona |
Baseball begins for BYU this season on Thursday in a
three-game series at the University of Arizona. This is a long-awaited season for the Cougars who play 23 road games before opening in their new 2,300-seat home facility, Miller Park,
currently under construction. |
