Utah Med School Says BYU Grads Sexist |
Complaints of harassment and sexist attitudes among BYU
graduates attending the University of Utah's Medical School have led BYU to
take steps to change the attitudes and worry that the medical school will
accept fewer BYU graduates as a result. The complaints came to BYU's
attention when the medical school's associate dean, Victoria Judd,
complained to BYU officials about the attitudes. This led to an internal
memo from BYU's Dean of Biology and Agriculture, Kent Crookston, sent to the
college's staff and a letter of apology from 24 BYU professors. |
LDS Avalanche Victim Mourned in New Hampshire |
Friends of LDS Church member Sharon
Reinfurt remembered her Wednesday as an active giving mother of three
who dug in and worked to help when it was needed. Reinfurt died
Tuesday in an avalanche at Utah's Canyons ski resort. The Reinfurt
family was on vacation in Utah, visiting daughter Cassie, a sophomore
at BYU. |
Mormon Car Designer Reflects on His Work |
Ed "Big Daddy" Roth recently celebrated
his sixty-ninth birthday. The creator of Mother's Worry, Nervous
Brother, and Rat Fink, he has customizing cars since 1955. In 1958 he
built his first car and started going to shows to exhibit his work. |
Max Craner named as Man of Excellence |
A lifelong dedication to service was recognized at
the Men's Week fireside. Elder Max W. Craner was presented with the
Man of Excellence Award by President David A. Bednar. Elder Craner is
a former Area Authority currently serving as president of the Logan
Utah Temple. He worked for 40 years with the Church Education System,
including supervision of seminaries and institutes. |

Three LDS Youth Honored for Service |
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI -- The Youth Recognition Board of the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast recognized Jeremy Goodson, John Ransom and Josh
Mack, all 16, for their community volunteer efforts. All three youth
were cited for their service through scouting and through the LDS
Church. Goodson and Ransom are both Eagle Scouts and Mack has
completed all the requirements except for a project. The article
gives the career and college plans for each recipient. |
