LDS-run Firm Now Largest Linux Company
Caldera Systems announced Monday that it had completed the acquisition of two divisions of The Santa Cruz Operation, which makes it now the largest Linux company in the world. Caldera's claim comes by virtue of its sales, support and representation in 82 countries worldwide.

Nauvoo on Track to Pass Zoning Ordinance
The Nauvoo City Council has passed the first reading of its new proposed zoning ordinance, but won't be done with the bill before a moratorium on new building permits expires May 15th. The moratorium was imposed and the ordinance proposed after The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced plans to rebuild the Nauvoo Temple and real estate developers announced building plans in the town. Nauvoo previously had no zoning law.

Coalition Promotes Church Energy Conservation in California
As the California energy crisis heats up, a coalition of California churches is trying to help its members conserve energy. And The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is conserving says Orange County spokesman Joe Bentley.

MSI: Broad-based rally Raises Mormon Stock Index
A broad group of stocks pushed up the Mormon Stock Index last week, led by Cadence Design, Corvis and Marriott. They offset a nearly 25% decline in environmental packaging firm EarthShell. Overall, 18 stocks listed in the index rose, while nine were down.

If quality is your quest, then you should log on to a new website set up by Penn State's graduate students that offers loads of free software and other tools. The website, http://www.freequality.org, provides -- free of charge -- a host of charts, selectors, diagram generators, and other tools that quality improvement professionals and the general public might need.
