Pres. Hinckley, National Religious Leaders Meet Bush
President Gordon B. Hinckley, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attended an hour long prayer meeting Thursday evening in Washington, D.C., along with 27 other religious leaders at the White House, to give his blessing and support to President Bush prior to Bush's address to the nation. According to a report from President Hinckley's office Bush told the group, "I have never felt stronger, and that strength comes from God."

Angels Moroni Placed on Three Temples
A statue of the Angel Moroni was hoisted above the Nauvoo Temple and two other temples last Friday. It was the 178th anniversary of the day LDS scriptures say the angel first appeared to church founder, the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr.

General Relief Society Meeting September 29th
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' General Relief Society Meeting will be held on Saturday, September 29th, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. MDT (-0600 GMT) in the Church's Conference Center Auditorium. Based on a theme of "Be Steadfast and Immovable" (Mosiah 5:15), the meeting will feature addresses by the General Relief Society Presidency and a member of the First Presidency.

Renovated Temple Square Visitors' Centers to Re-open
The Temple Square Visitors' Centers will open to the public on 5 October 2001 after undergoing extensive remodeling this year--the first major structural changes to the centers in more than two decades.

Public to Tour Columbia River Washington Temple
The public is invited to tour the newly completed Columbia River Washington Temple in Richland, Wash. The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that an open house will begin on Saturday, 27 October 2001, and will continue through Saturday, 10 November 2001. No tours will be offered on Sunday, 28 October and Sunday, 4 November.
