Album Featuring MoTab Song Debuts at No.1
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- "God Bless America," a hastily compiled album
of patriotic songs that includes the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's "The
Star Spangled Banner," debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 on
October 24th.
The album, compiled by Columbia Records, features 15 songs including
Celine Dion's studio version of "God Bless America" which she sang
live during the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon and John
Cougar Mellencamp's previously unreleased live acoustic version of
"Peaceful World." Also included is the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's
1965 rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner."
"God Bless America" sold 180,975 copies the first week and a portion
of the proceeds will go to the Twin Towers Fund.
