| U.S. Consul General Killed in Ukrainian Auto Accident |
| Gregory Paul Hulka, the U.S. Consul General in the Ukraine,
was killed November 9th along with his 10-year-old daughter in an auto
accident while traveling to a wedding in central Ukraine. Hulka, 44, was a
returned LDS missionary and career diplomat who had been posted to Kyiv in
early September. |
| LDS Missionary, Who Helped East Berliners Escape, Dead at 66 |
| An LDS man who helped those in East German escape
to the west, while he was serving a mission in West Berlin for The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has died. Clarence Fuja, 66, was a
Chicago native of Polish descent who joined the LDS Church after his parents
sent him to "rescue" and return to Catholicism a brother who had joined the
LDS Church. |
