Former Mission, Temple President Joseph Hamstead |
Joseph Hamstead, 77, beloved husband and father and
servant in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away
August 9, 2001. Brother Hamstead served as president of the London, England
Stake from 1967-1972 and served along with his wife Margaret as Temple
President and Matron of the London Temple from 1982-1986. He served as a
Stake Patriarch in the early 1980's and as president of the Zimbabwe Mission
during 1987-1990. Of all the service that Joseph Hamstead gave to The
Church, he loved missionary work the most. He and his wife continued serving
with a Teaching Mission in Samoa and a Temple Mission in New Zealand. |
